FIGHT AGAINST CYBER VIOLENCE :
RESPECT ZONE AND CYBERBULLYING.PT JOIN FORCES IN PORTUGAL TO HELP VICTIMS AND WITNESSES OF CYBERVIOLENCE
RESPECT ZONE, the NGO tackling cyber-violence, and CYBERBULLYING.PT announce their partnership to enhanced hatred and violence prevention online.
On the occasion of the II Global StopCyberbullying Telesummit held from Portugal, CYBERBULLYING.PT is making a long-term international commitment against cyberviolence.
RESPECT ZONE now claims an active presence in 5 countries: France, Belgium, Switzerland, USA and Portugal.
Thanks to the representation of RESPECT ZONE by CYBERBULLYING.PT, Portuguese users will soon be able to access the RESPECT ZONE legal aid after the creation of a Circle of Portuguese Lawyers as well as the tools created by RESPECT ZONE : the Charter for Digital Respect and a kit for education and communication including the MOOC of moderation training developed with the European Commission’s project SCAN.
“At a time when European civil society faces an increased exposure to cyberviolence due to the successive confinements enforced to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, this partnership will allow our organisations to offer the necessary responses and tools to deal with it,” says Tito de Morais with CYBERBULLYING.PT.
“This partnership is also the beginning of a common associative front to defend cyberviolence victims’ interests in the European institutions where the Digital Services Act is being discussed” adds Philippe Coen from RESPECT ZONE.
